#meetthemaker - Saffron
Saffron joined Honey Willow this summer, after spotting our advert for new team members in the shop window. She grew up in beautiful Pembrokeshire and has recently graduated from Bath Spa University with a degree in Fine Art. Saffron is already adeptly silversmithing pendants for our customers and she is learning about other parts of the business too.
Saffron lives just up the road from Honey Willow with her boyfriend Gherto. They both moved to Bath from Wales and they love experiencing all the 'fancy coffees and cocktails Bath has to offer'! In her spare time she likes to go to her studio at Black Chalk Studios, which she shares with her friend Joanna. During the summer, she enjoys making natural dyes and she runs her own business @saffron_plant_dye
Favourite jewellery to make:
"I love making milestone birthday necklaces, not only do I get to use lots of different texturing hammers, I also love reading the personalised gift notes and knowing what I’m making will be a really special gift to someone."
Favourite jewellery to wear:
"I’ve had my eye on a few things I’d like to wear, I really like the silver birthstone stacking rings, I’d love to get matching ones for me and my sister for Christmas."
Favourite jewellery to give:
"It’s my cousin’s 18th birthday coming up and I’m really excited to give her a pair of the handmade textured gold hoops, I think they will be great for an eighteenth birthday!"
Favourite part of working at Honey Willow:
"Learning! I’ve only been at Honey Willow for a short time, but I have learnt so much. The team have been so welcoming and generous with their knowledge of jewellery. I feel very lucky that I get to make and be creative in work."
