January birthstone gift guide
In the month of new resolutions it comes as no surprise that garnet, the birthstone for January, represents regeneration, vitality and success.
Garnet takes it's name from the Latin word 'Garanatus', meaning 'seedlike' in reference to the pomegranate.
Garnets have long been used as a protective talisman and are thought of as a traveller’s stone. Many early explorers and warriors liked to carry a garnet to protect them. It was believed to light up the night and protect its bearer from evil and disaster.
